Image: Friday, October 27th, FRC members gathered on Myers Quad for an awesome talk by Dr. Scott Shaw on the astronomy department on campus. Members had the opportunity to ask Dr. Shaw a variety of thought-provoking questions about our universe in the Q&A style talk. We learned about black holes, the expansion of the universe, and the distinction between science and superstition. After the amazing talk, we kicked off spooky season with our sleepover social! Blankets and tents strewn across the quad, members enjoyed s'mores, pizza, make-your-own caramel apple slices, and more AND we painted adorable mini-pumpkins to really settle into the season. Check out some photos from the event!
