Mei is a freshman majoring in Biology with a minor in Genetics. She joined the Franklin Residential College (FRC) to engage in meaningful conversations, participate in service projects, and build lasting connections. Mei was drawn to the FRC’s mission of bringing together students from diverse backgrounds and majors through experiences that celebrate culture and perspective. Being part of this community has allowed her to reach out to others and form meaningful relationships in a supportive environment that extends beyond UGA’s campus and into the Athens community. From environmentally focused volunteer projects to fun social events, the FRC has given Mei a strong sense of belonging and helped her transition into college life. Her favorite FRC memory so far is volunteering at Sweet Olive Farm and getting to interact with the animals there.
