I graduated UGA with a degree in bioengineering and a minor in philosophy in 2023, and have recently started work as a researcher at the University of South Carolina (UofSC) through the NIH PREP Program. I am running a research project into acetylcholine neurons within the basal forebrain in relation to varying age and sleep states with the UofSC School of Medicine Pharmacology, Physiology, and Neuroscience Department. I started my time at UGA with FRC and it was truly an enjoyable and worthwhile experience. I learned a lot and had access to a support system that I did not expect to have during my first-year. Some of my favorite memories were planting the FRC Garden with other members and watching Rent at the Fine Arts Building. Currently I’m planning to start a graduate program in neuroscience or psychology, exploring research into cognition and (hopefully) understanding the brain and mind better.
